Spring Valley, MN – March 30, 2017 – By: Todd Narveson: The Queensland family and their staff are getting staged and ready to go for the 2017 stock car racing season opener at Deer Creek Speedway. This will mark the 22nd year of operation for the speedway and the 16th season under the direction of the Queensland’s. It will definitely be another exciting year at the southern Minnesota speed plant.

Teams will get a chance to shake down their machines with a practice session scheduled for Saturday, April 8. Grandstands and pit gates will open at 3:00 p.m. with hot laps at 5:30 p.m. and racing to get underway at 6:00 p.m. The divisions in competition will remain the same with USRA Modifieds and B-Mods, WISSOTA Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds and Street Stocks.

The Deer Creek schedule is once again filled with not only the great weekly racing fans have come to expect, but also a nice docket of special events too. Some of those include the first ever Minnesota appearance of the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series in May. The World Of Outlaw Sprint Cars make an appearance in June and the World Of Outlaw Late Models return in July for the Gopher 50. There will be five United States Modified Touring Series events that will climax with the 19th Annual Fall Jamboree in September. The Interstate Racing Association Sprint Cars make their first appearance since 2011 in September along with the UMSS Sprint Car group.

Also the School Bus Races and Mascot night is back along with Pink Out Night at the speedway. Tasseldega Nights returns and that night allows everyone free admission to the speedway. The Double Down race event and Driver Recognition night returns too. Add to all of that the new “King Of The Creek” program that will give drivers in all five classes a shot at some extra cash at the annual awards banquet and it is another big season slated for the speedway.

The Deer Creek Speedway is a high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval which sits on 60 acres south of Rochester, MN with one of America’s most popular state-of-the-art racing complexes and an adjoining campground.
