MLDS Launches Weekday Warrior Series
West Allis, WI (May 21st, 2025) - The Midwest Legends Dirt Series is proud to announce the inaugural Weekday Warrior Series, a four-race mini-championship that will take place at existing races throughout the 2025 season. An increased purse for the four races plus a massive championship fund will make drivers not want to miss them, with funding coming from presenting sponsor Spankins Motorsports.
The series will take place across three tracks at four separate races. The first race will be Thursday, July 3rd at Luxy Raceway on Veterans night. The second will take place at 141 Speedway during their King of the Creek event on Tuesday, July 15th. Race three will see the series go to Maquoketa Speedway during the Jackson County Fair on Wednesday, July 23rd. The final race sees the series return to 141 Speedway on Tuesday, August 12th during the Captain of the Creek event.
Now the big question, how does the series work? During the WDW season, a separate points table will be tracked for those four races. Whoever ends the four nights with the most points will be crowned the first ever Weekday Warrior Champion, simple as that. Points will still count for the main MLDS points championship as well with it not being affected.
With sponsorship from Spankins Motorsports, each race will have an increased purse throughout the field. At the end of the four races, the champion will walk away with $500 and a pretty trophy for their shelf, awarded at the end of season banquet.
“I think a strong first year will pave the way for bigger and better in the future for sure”, said Brian Hankins of Spankins Motorsports. “This is something we need in dirt racing now, makes it just that little bit better and more fun”, he continued.
“I’m super excited to see this series and vision of mine come to life”, series creator Zack Krueger stated. “I had this idea one day and said screw it, let's make it work somehow and here we are. I have to thank Spankins Motorsports for immediately jumping on the opportunity and joining in”, Krueger finished.
“I think this is a great way to promote the weekday shows for sure, makes them that little bit more rewarding”, MLDS president Mike Schmuhl added.
