Annual Barlow and Knowles Memorials

Belleville, IL – The weekend is almost here; the annual Herb Barlow Memorial at Jacksonville Speedway on Friday, September 14th and the Tom Knowles Memorial at Spoon River Speedway on Saturday, September 15th. Friday, the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League and POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League invade America’s Baddest Bullring as they take on the high-banked Jacksonville Speedway.

Earlier in 2018 at Jacksonville Speedway, the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League saw Ryan Robinson earn his breakthrough victory in the Midwest Season Opener weekend on May 11th, while Logan Seavey took the show on June 8th during POWRi Illinois SPEED Week. With the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League, Austin Schaeffer won the Midwest Season Opener weekend show on May 11th, while Joe B. Miller won on June 8th during POWRi Illinois SPEED Week.

On Saturday, September 15th, the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League will break away from the micros and head north to Spoon River Speedway in Lewistown, Illinois for the annual Tom Knowles Memorial. Always a thrilling performance, Spoon River Speedway provides an annual visit for the National Midgets. Also on the docket both nights, look for POWRi drivers pulling double-duty with the MOWA sprints in pursuit of the elusive double.

In POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League competition, point leader Tucker Klaasmeyer carries heavy momentum into this weekend, after a thrilling victory leading the Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports podium sweep at Lake Ozark Speedway. Klaasmeyer’s KKM teammate Ryan Robinson still trails the Kansan as the duo looks to these final races to sort out the championship. Zach Daum trails in third.

With the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League, Austin Schaeffer has a 240-point advantage over Harley Hollan. With one more victory than Hollan, Schaeffer looks to Jacksonville Speedway as an opportunity to capture another victory and extend his point lead, while Hollan hopes to make up ground as POWRi approaches the final races of the season. Jordan Howell sits in third, earning his breakthrough victory at Macon Speedway, the most recent outing for the POWRi Speedway Motors micros.
