Ken Schrader, NASCAR Cup Series driver, to race in Alaska

Ken Schrader, long time NASCAR Cup Series driver, will be racing at Alaska Raceway Park during his 2018 United States race tour. Schrader will be competing against local racers in the Pruhs Construction Late Model class race on June 30, 2018 at the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track located in the Butte near Palmer.

Throughout his motorsports career, Schrader has driven almost every kind of race car—late models, modifieds, sports cars, sprint cars, Indy cars and stock cars. Starting in his teens, Schrader has driven race cars for the past four decades. One of the sport’s legendary drivers, he has served in many other roles including car owner, race promoter, spotter, radio and TV commentator and author. Schrader spent the last 30 seasons behind the wheel in NASCAR’s elite Cup Series, before retiring in November 2013. Since then, Schrader’s ARCA team has been competing at dirt tracks all over the country.

Our local drivers are excited to be competing against the legendary driver. Schrader will also be signing autographs and taking photos with fans. Alaska Raceway Park track owner, Earl Lackey, said “It’s an awesome opportunity to bring Kenny up here to race on our new NASCAR track.”
