Bowers Jr, Russell, Mick, Miller, Smith Jr, Browning, Nichols, and Raffurty all Winners at US 36 Raceway

By Rick Staley (Osborn, MO) -- Mod Lites would kick of the night of great racing action with side-by-side racing throughout the pack of contenders. Dillon Raffurty #46 would sweep the night winning both heat race and feature. It wasn’t easy in the feature as he would work form the back of the field to take the lead at the halfway point and never look back. Jeff Raffurty #98 would lead early and battle with Kyle Guy #17 until Guy would make his move to finish second in the closing laps moving Jeff Raffurty to place third. Big mover of the feature was #75 Justin Raffurty as he would work traffic to end the night fourth with Michael Raffurty #41 rounding out the night’s top five.

#21K Coleman Browning from Cameron, MO E-Modified Feature Winner!!!
E-Modified would be the next to roar to the high banks and would not disappoint with great racing from green to checkers. Heat race winner Blake Hayes #14H would take the early lead setting a blistering pace with Josh Adkins #15 and other heat winner Lane Matthews giving chase. As these battled at the front, last season’s track champion Coleman Browning #21K would charge from an eleventh place starting spot to move into contention. Hayes would appear to be the car to beat until a late race spin it turn four would dash his chances for the win. Adkins would have to take evasive action to miss hitting Hayes, also spinning, sending both drivers to the rear. Browning would take over the top spot with Marshall Cramer #24C nipping at the back bumper with Browning picking up the feature win and Cramer coming home second. Heat winner Lane Matthews and other heat winner George Burnett #23B would duke it out with Matthews third and Burnett fourth respectively. Mr. consistent Justin Asher #73 would work from back to front placing a solid fifth.

#4M Mike Miller from King City, MO Pure Stock Feature Winner!!!
Pure Stock would see a first-time winner keep the field of contenders at bay and claim the checkers. With a class filled with both veteran and rookie drivers they would put on a show like none other with a side-by-side finish at the line. Mike Miller #M4 would pull to the early lead as Carson Masoner #48X would challenge both high and low but to no avail. Mich Ross driving the Boller Motorsports #20 would charge past both Masoner and heat winner Tyler Starmer #11S to knock on the back bumper of Miller. Miller could not be shaken and hold his line to perfection as he and Ross battled door to door to the checkers. Miller would not be denied and pick up his first ever feature win by a fender to celebrate in Nextran Truck Center Victory Lane. Ross would come home second, Tyler Starmer third, Josh Marshall #C7, whom was in contention all feature was fourth and Gracie Couch #53 rounded out the night’s top five. Other heat race winner was Jake Starmer #11J who developed mechanical issues taking him from the race.

#76 Jay Russell from Elwood, KS IMCA Sprint Car Feature Winner!!!
IMCA RaceSaver Sprints would see Jay Russell Klein Motors and RV #76 dominate winning both feature and heat race on this night of competition. Russell would set the pace early battling with Jacob Dye #20D and Jack Potter #15 until Dye would take a tumble down the front straight bringing his night to and end. Russell would pick up the win with Potter second and Monty Ferriera #45 third. 2021 track champion Kenny Potter would place a solid fourth with 13-year-old sensation Natalie Doney #74 ending the night in fifth.

#75X Randy Smith Jr from Hamilton, MO IMCA Northern Sport Mod Feature Winner!!!
IMCA Northern Sport Mods would go caution free with Tim Stallbaumer #T25 taking the lead early. Randy Smith Jr #75 would fly past Stallbaumer to take the front and hold the rest of contenders at bay as Steven Clancy #12X would charge to the back bumper of Smith. Other heat race winner Adam Vrbka #7V would race through the field to challenge in the closing laps but could not overcome Smith’s advantage. Randy Smith Jr would pick up the win running the entire feature with no clutch and must be pushed to Nextran Truck Center Victory Lane. Clancy would place second with Vrbka third with the always fast Casey the Jet Burnett #23B fourth and Tim Eaton #211 racing his way to fifth.

#63 Mike Nichols from Harlan, IA IMCA Stock Car Feature Winner!!!!
IMCA Stock Cars never disappoint on the high banks of US 36 and this night of racing action would be no different. Early laps would see a four-way battle between heat race winner Carson Masoner #20X, Chad Clancy #21C, Nate Barnes #29X and Mike Nichols #63 as all jockeyed for position. Nichols and Clancy would move to the point as Nichols would move past and take the spot. Clancy would try high and low never letting Nichols get out of reach but could not find a way around as Nichols would pick up the win. The winningest driver ever in IMCA Stock Car, Mike Nichols, would add another and celebrate in victory lane. Clancy would settle for second with Nate Barnes a very close third. Carson Masoner would fade slightly to finish fourth with other heat race winner Mich Ross #34X moving from the back of the pack to finish fifth.

#77 Steven Bowers Jr from Topeka, KS IMCA Modified Feature Winner!!!
IMCA Modified would see last years Track Champion back in fine form winning both heat race and feature. Cory Wray #69N would take the lead only to see problems in turn #1 bringing out the yellow sending him to the rear of the field on the ensuing restart. Richard Spriggs #81 would take his turn at the front and battle Steven Bowers Jr. Bowers worked his way by and into the lead position and would not look back lapping every contender except second place on his way to the win. Bowers would celebrate the win with Wray rebounding to place second with Spriggs third. Josh Munsen #19x would work his way through the pack to claim fourth with RJ Dishong #41D fifth.

#15 Brad Mick from Plattsburg, MO IMCA Sport Compact Feature Winner
IMCA Sport Compacts would see a wild start as Brad Mick #15 would charge from a second row outside starting spot to the lead at the drop of the green flag. As Mick would lead, Drayven Sumpter #95 and Greg Marrant #71 would duke it out behind him for second. Brad Mick would hold off all challengers for the feature win leaving Sumpter to place second and Marrant third. Fourth place would go to heat race winner Devin Schmidt #33D with young up and comer Payton Teel ending the night fifth.
