Driver Information
Andrew Hesler is a 14 yr Army Veteran specializing in tactical communications. Andrew served from June 1996 to September 2009 after being medically separated from the service after serving two tours in Korea, tour of Germany, three tours at Fort Hood where he deployed to OIF with the 1st Calvary Division in Iraq. Andrew began his racing career racing a Walter Newman Bushwhacker Chassis until moving to a Rocket Chassis this season. Being from Iowa, he grew up watching Sprint Cars at what was known as the Jackson Speedway in the mid to late 80s in Jackson, Minnesota to the likes of Doug Wolfgang, Sammy Swindell and many others with the dream of one day being a racer himself.
In 2013 he was diagnosed with CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukemia). Once on the road to recovery, he along with his good friend Mark O'Donnell started the Releaf4Troops Charity. His goal is to bring awareness to all veterans suffering from PTSD and injuries in hopes to curb the ongoing Veteran care issues we see today thru the racing program and the racing community.
