Dupo, IL (April 10, 2017) It was an uncharacteristic tough night for the BDS Motorsports team on Friday as they took on 40 of the best 360 sprint car drivers in the country during night one at the Texas Motor Speedway. With NASCAR in town, it was the perfect setting for former Cup star, Tony Stewart to work with the ASCS to present the Tony Stewart Texas Sprint Car Nationals. Great car counts, beautiful weather, and good-size crowds set the scene for a weekend of awesome winged sprint car racing. After struggling on Friday night, Justin Henderson and the BDS Motorsports team recovered Saturday, picking up their third top ten finish of the season.

Friday night’s racing started with Justin starting fourth in a tough heat race. Finishing fifth, sent him to the back of a qualifier, where he could only salvage a seventh-place finish. A combination of passing points from those two events sent him to the B-main, where a fifth-place finish would not move him into the 25-lap A-main event. On Saturday, the team headed back out to the Texas Motor Speedway looking to improve from the tough night before. In heat race action, Justin started fourth and finished fourth, putting him on the pole of a qualifier event. Taking an early lead, Justin picked up the qualifier win and earned a 12th place starting position in the 30-lap A-main event. Racing hard mid-pack, Justin drove the Al Parker powered Eagle Chassis home to a 10th place finish; his and the team’s third top ten of the season. While not typical BDS results, the team did a great job of recovering from tough conditions on Friday night and making the best of the weekend situation.

After four races, Justin currently sits sixth in the ASCS National Point Standings, just 141 points behind leader, Sam Hafertepe, Jr. Up next for the BDS Motorsports team will be a trip to the Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Missouri this Saturday night.
