Driver Information

Michael has been in and around the Automotive and racing industry for most of his life. He started really getting involved in dirt racing when his father Randy Anderson started piting for a race team in Arizona. Randy started as a pit crew helper and moved his way up to the driver of the Bob Brown #94 Late model, Randy was the most consistent driver the Bob Brown race team had on their roster.
The Bob brown "Geritol express race team" pun intended was a team of Dirt racers that loved to have fun on the dirt and actually were a pivotal component in keeping Arizona Dirt Late Models racing alive, with a driver tally of 6 at one point. Some were win or bust, but not Michaels Father Randy, He understood that having the cars on the track was more important than winning at all costs. Randy was a consistent top 5 car both in points and on the track! Did Randy Win? Sure, here and there but keeping the car in one piece was the goal and consistency was key to keep the SWDRA series alive! One of Randy's highlights while driving for Bob was a race in AZ called the Winter Thaw (now known as the Wild West Shootout) held in Casagrande AZ where all the top late model drivers in the nation were in attendance Randy was the only AZ car to qualify for the A main Beating out Kenny Shrader in the Federal-Mogul Car! Randy would have engine problems in the main, but the accomplishment was awesome none the less!
When Bob decided to retire, he offered every driver that raced for him their car in exchange they had to show that they could keep their cars racing the series for one year at a minimum. On a blue-collar salary Randy did so. He fielded his super late model for several seasons and was the only driver from the Bob Brown stable to do so! Randy had several successful seasons after. During the 2011 season Randy blew his engine and at the price tag of 30k he decided to park the rocket chassis he was racing at the time. In 2014 Michael found out that Randy was selling his whole super late model program to a gentleman in Tuscon AZ, due to some health reasons. When Michael found out the price Randy was asking Michael was shocked and was not about to let all those memories go for that little sum of money.
So on to Michael's era of late model racing. Michael Started Blue Pitt Kustoms in AZ in 2013 Blue Pitt was a full-service race shop specializing in LSX builds. Michael was known for Drifting and Street no prep drag racing at this time. Michael began to build a LS based power plant for his super late model the 1st of its kind in supers at that time. There was a bunch of trial and error but once Michael built a 430 CI LSX the power was finally there supporting a 1050hp engine he was now competitive with the power! The only issue was the class had all but died. So, a group of 5 or 6 cars was all that was left trying to hold the SWDRA together and still racing! Eventually the series gained cars and built a strong 15 to 20 car nightly race field! Our 5 or 6 cars pulled it off!
But still this kind of racing was so foreign to Michael it was crazy. Yes, Michael was around dirt racing from childhood but the set up and prep was not known, Michael just helped where he could scrape mud and changing tires in those nostalgic days!
This type of racing was so different. Michael was racing what you would call a Z-link set up and was spinning out almost every lap, once a close friend gave him a 4-bar set up and great set of shocks the game changed. On Michaels 1st race with the new set up he placed 2nd in the heat and the rest is history! Running with no sponsors Michael had become a consistent top 5 car in the SWDRA Super Late Model Sires in AZ! Even though Michael has never had a sponsor other than the Family sponsor of fuel from Hill Brothers Chemical and Rusty! Michael managed to become a force in the series never missing a race his consistency was always there, rain or shine Michael and his Crew were always racing supporting the series!
After several successful seasons in the SWDRA Michael made a move to Northern Nevada. Unfortunately, there was no Super Late races to be found in the area despite several tracks being so close all Michael could find were IMCA Mod races or factory stock racing, with sprint car racing out of the budget but having the same speed and feel as a super Michael finally found a IMCA A-Mod to race at the local tracks.
After Two seasons in an A-mod Michael found a home back in his Late Model with the Xtreme Late Model Sires out of Concord California.
