Cisney Focused on Capturing Port Royal Speedway Championship in 2018

Inside Line Promotions – PORT ROYAL, Pa. (March 5, 2018) – Dylan Cisney is hungry for a championship as his 2018 season is slated to begin this Saturday at Port Royal Speedway.
Cisney has had an upset stomach throughout the offseason after finishing second in the championship standings at his home track by only five points – the equivalent of one position –last year.
“That was a tough one, to watch a whole season slip away by only one car,” he said. “You look at all the races and where you finished each race and what you could have done to get one more position.”
The heartbreaking ending to the 2017 season has fueled Cisney, who has made a big change entering this year. His team has switched chassis manufacturers to X-1 Race Cars.
“We’re always looking to make our cars better and looking for new ideas,” he said. “We got to know (X-1 Race Cars Founder) Ryan Linder the last year since he moved to PA. We decided to give it a try for this year. I went up to his shop this winter and looked over his cars that he was working on. His craftsmanship looks like it’s second to none. To have that good of a fabricator local is the direction we needed to go.”
Cisney is hopeful it will make a difference after his team struggled at Port Royal Speedway during the final handful of events after producing a stout start to the season.
“It all adds up to experience,” he said. “When you get to the point where you start to struggle, it taught us to not try to hold onto things for too long. It was a learning experience.”
The ability to have his chassis manufacturer a short drive away from the team’s shop, which is located next to Port Royal Speedway, is a bonus for Cisney.
“It’s something we’re pretty excited about,” Linder said. “He had a really good run last year at Port Royal and I think he has a good shot at winning the title this year.”
Cisney said his main focus in 2018 is the Port Royal Speedway track championship and the amount he competes at other tracks will depend on his success at his home track as well as bringing in new marketing partners.
“We learned a lot while competing for the championship last year and I’m excited to apply that this season,” he said. “We have room for additional marketing partners. My goal is to win a lot of races in 2018 and to lead our partners to Victory Lane as often as possible.”
