Goodwin Setting Sights on Dells Championship
THREE OAKS, MI – February 12, 2015 – Twenty year old driver Garett Goodwin of Three Oaks, Michigan will be attempting for his first Late Model championship this year at the Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. The results from last years debut season in the Limited Late Model series was quiet impressive, capturing Late Model career best finishes of a heat win, two top tens, and a 10th place finish in the September Showdown standings.
In recent years, funding has put a halt on Goodwin’s championship runs with only being able to run select races throughout the season. The last full season schedule was back in 2009 when Garett captured three championships and a fifth place finish in the INEX Legends National Standings for the Young Lions division.
Garett and Jet Motorsports will continue their partnership for this year’s championship run. The budget to run the full schedule at the Dells looks optimistic. “I am very excited to announce our news about running for the championship”, Goodwin states, “I’m hoping the funding will be there, but we will sure try everything we can to make this possible.”
After last season’s results from the Dells, Goodwin feels that they are capable of collecting better results for this season. The first race on the schedule will be May 9th for the Mother’s Day Special Late Model 40. Below is the 2015 tentative schedule for DRP.
