12th with DIRTcar Nationals at Brownstown, finishes second at FALS
Back with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals on Friday, Ryan Unzicker visited Brownstown Bullring (Brownstown, Ill.) for the eighth round of the Hell Tour.
After missing a transfer spot by one car in his heat with a fourth-place finish, Unzicker raced his way into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a consolation victory. Moving forward seven spots in the 50-lap affair, Ryan recorded a 12th-place finish.
Attending the Super Late Model portion of the Bill Waite Jr. Memorial on Saturday at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.), Ryan laid down the sixth-fastest lap in his group before placing second in his heat. Despite early contact from another competitor that folded over his nose, Unzicker made a late charge in the 30-lapper to secure a runner-up finish. He trailed McKay Wenger to the checkers with Rich Bell rounding out the podium.
