FREMONT, Ohio – Two more strong performances came from Cap Henry during the latest Fremont/Attica Sprint Title points weekend. Though a tenth-place finish was the result on Friday at Attica Raceway Park, the following night at Fremont Speedway brought a runner-up finish to the Genzman No. 53 team, marking the 15th top-five finish and seventh podium of the season in the 24 events the group has contested.

Both nights, Henry turned in quick qualifying efforts. 12.357 seconds around Attica made him third-fastest overall. The Bellevue, Ohio resident started third and took over second, but couldn’t hold onto the position and finished third.

Starting from seventh on the 30-lap main event grid, Henry was on the move early, running in fourth after completing just one trip around the third-mile oval. One lap later, he powered into the third position, and then set out to put Craig Mintz behind him. Crossing the line to begin lap nine, Henry aimed the J&J toward the low side of turn one to attempt a slidejob. The move worked, but rear end drifted too far and the machine spun to a stop exiting turn two. Forced to restart from the tail of the field with 21 laps to go, Henry picked his way through the running order and ultimately finished tenth.

“The Track that Action Built,” Fremont Speedway, was on tap for Saturday night racing, and Henry timed in fifth-quick in qualifying with a 13.052-second performance. Scheduled to start fifth in his heat race, the polesitter quickly fell back on the start and Henry took over third. He would hold onto the spot for the entirety of the ten-lap race.

Lining up fifth again for the main event, Henry was unable to pass for position early, but the track began to slick off and better suit the two-time winner this season. By lap ten, Henry had moved into third, then made his way into the second position with five laps to go. Mindful of season point standings, he was able to finish second, ahead of Byron Reed, who narrowly leads the both the Fremont Speedway and FAST Series standings over Henry.

Henry would like to thank Level Performance, J&J Auto Racing, OC Shocks, FK Rod Ends, Simpson Race Products, Keizer Wheels, Wings Unlimited, HMS Speedways & Hobbies, Handy Grafix, and Kear's Speed Shop as well as his family, the Genzman team, and all of his great fans for their continued support.

Henry is next scheduled to compete at on July 31 at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, and on August 1 at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio, both in the Genzman Racing Enterprises No. 53 410ci winged sprint entry.
