Logan Schuchart

River Cities Rundown

Night number one of the “Duel in the Dakotas” was off to a great start for the Shark Racing Team, with Jacob timing in 6th and Logan timing in 7th during time trial qualification. Heat number one showed Logan Schuchart firing off from the 5th position, and with a narrow racing surface, he would finish 5th, which would qualify him into the A-Main event.

Heat number two had Jacob Allen starting in the third position. After a great start, he would get by Sheldon Haudenschild and settle into second place behind Tony Stewart Racing’s Donny Schatz. That second Place finish in the heat race would have Jacob on the front stretch talking to Johnny Gibson as he would be in the Craftsman Club Dash!

Jacob would then go on to beat Donny Schatz in the Craftsman Club Dash by putting on a brave performance on the top side of the speedway. That win in the dash would have Jacob starting from the pole in the A-Main event.

When the Green Flag flew on the A-Main event, Logan Schuchart would hit the loud pedal from the 17th position, and Jacob Allen took off to an early lead. It was at this point in the night that things went south for Shark Racing and Jacob Allen. He got just a little anxious and jumped the cushion as he was approaching lap traffic and took a wild ride out over the banking.

Jacob was most importantly ok as he climbed out of his Shark Racing number 1A mount and walked back to the pit area.

The main event would stay under red conditions for almost 2 hours after Allens incident, as the rain began to fall on the River Cities Speedway. When action resumed, the drivers were dealing with an unusual one lane race track. River Cities Speedway is one of the best racing surfaces and configurations the World of Outlaws see all year long and mother nature just through the track crew a curve ball. The speedway and outlaw officials did the best they could, but racing was challenging, and Logan Schuchart was pretty much stuck to deal with track conditions. A broken gear set on the last lap would end the night for Shark Racing, officially recording a 15th (Logan) and a 23rd (Jacob).
