Traugott, Wallace and Reimers Winners at 81 Speedway

Park City, Kansas- Racing returned to 81 Speedway Saturday night with four big classes of cars competing. Alternative Pest Management / USRA A Modifieds had an additional bonus of $1300 to win and $200 to start the 25 Lap A Feature. Also added was $100 for the Hard Charger. 81 Speedway would like to thank Brent Thomas, S&T Racing, Doo-Dah Diner, Hiline Graphix, Mullen’s Race Chassi and Dive Dogs for making the event a special one. Woodard, Oklahoma’s Cole Traugott, starting 8th, found his way through the field to pick up his first victory at 81 Speedway, Traugott slipped by pole sitter Brendan Gemmill with 4 laps remaining to seal the win. Gemmill paced the first 21 laps, surviving cautions and restarts, but couldn’t hold off the oncoming Traugott. Gemmill would finish second, with Mt. Hope, Kansas’ Tad Davis, Brandon Givens and Colton Eck rounding out the Top 5. The B Feature win went to last week's winner Jake NIghtingale. Heat Race wins went to Bob Bills, Davis, Eck and Cody Schniepp.

In Chunky Poodle Rookie Mods, Andrew Wallace fought and held off Ryan Quiring and Chris Lyons for the victory. Wallace, starting 6th, worked past pole sitter Jim Roney and 4th starting Dillon Moler over the caution filled A Feature. Heat Race wins went to Moler, Roney and Wallace.

In one of the evening's most exciting A Features, Hutchinson, Kansas’ Jerrod Reimer motored by pole sitter David Blevins for the victory in AutoTech Services Street Stocks. Blevins led the first 10 laps of the 12 lap feature, but Reimer found the line through turns 3 and 4 that allowed him to pass the leader Blevins. Blevins, David Blocher, Mike McIlvian and Parker Schrag would complete the Top five. Heat Race wins went to Reimer and Blevins.

The final event of the night, USAC Wingless Sprints, drivers from Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Missouri competed in a 25 Lap A feature that saw Topeka, Kansas’ Wyatt Burks take advantage of a lightning fast highline on his way to the victory. Early in the race it looked like local driver Jeremy Campbell was well on his way to the win, as he survived retirements of Brett Wilson and Wes Smith, as well as multiple restarts. Burks took advantage of Campbell’s late race flip and held off Kory Shoudy for the win. Heat Race wins went to Burks, Smith and Campbell.

Racing returns to 81 Speedway next Saturday, June 27th, with Alternative Pest Management / USRA A Modifieds competing for a $1000 to win A Feature.
