Brandon Hahn Battles for 11th-Place Result at Outlaw Motorsports Park
Inside Line Promotions – WAINWRIGHT, Okla. (Sept. 10, 2013) – Things are turning around for Brandon Hahn, who capitalized on a last-minute decision to compete at Outlaw Motorsports Park last Saturday with the ASCS Sooner Region.
“That was my first time ever at that race track,” he said. “I like it. It was a nice facility, a nice race track.”
After a high pill draw started him last in his heat race, Hahn advanced to a third-place finish to earn a spot in the feature redraw.
“We were so fast,” he said. “I got a really good start. We were good.”
Hahn pulled the No. 6 in the random redraw to line up on the outside of the third row for the main event.
“There were three or four original starts,” he said. “It was a cluster to say the least. I hit a guy who had spun on the second start. I got in some trouble on the last original restart and got our front axle bent back and our draglink bent back.”
Hahn ended up taking the lead on the opening lap, but fought a damaged race car for the rest of the feature.
“I was just holding on,” he said. “We had such a fast car and got in a wreck on Lap 1. The car was all over the place.”
Hahn salvaged an 11th-place result, which was his sixth top 15 of the season.
He is scheduled to take this weekend off before returning to action on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
