Tankersley Aiming for First Career ASCS National Tour Win This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – HIGHLANDS, Texas (Oct. 15, 2014) – Channin Tankersley is searching for his first career Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour victory and this weekend could provide the perfect opportunity.

Tankersley will pilot a sprint car owned by Bruce Griffith during the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour 41st annual Winter Nationals at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas.

“I’ve always ran strong there, but haven’t caught the right breaks,” Tankersley said. “I’ve been in contention to win races and had weird things happen. Whether it’s been a mechanical failure or getting in a crash, we’ve been derailed from a few opportunities to win. Hopefully this weekend everything will go smooth and I’ll have a shot at a victory or two.”

Tankersley is in the middle of one of his best seasons. He is fresh off his first career ASCS Gulf South Region championship and he’s already recorded three feature victories.

“I feel like I’ve had a consistent season,” he said. “That’s what won the ASCS Gulf South championship. However, I’m not just aiming to earn consistent top fives or top 10s. I’m shooting to win races.”

Tankersley finished seventh at the Winter Nationals last year and he earned a seventh-place result during his most-recent race at the half-mile track in August.
