Mack McCarter attends Spring Thaw at Volunteer Speedway
With the XR Super Series close to home, Mack McCarter made the short trip to Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) on Saturday afternoon for the XR Super Series-sanctioned Spring Thaw.
Stopping the clock seventh-fastest in his group, McCarter finished third in his heat which earned him a starting spot on the fifth-row. With a whopping $30,000 payday on the line, Mack was running inside the Top-10 when a mechanical failure derailed his race. He was scored 21st.
Hoping for better luck in Sunday' $12,000-to-win finale, Mack nabbed the final transfer spot in his heat race before recording a 15th-place outing in the main event.
