Hill Records Top 10 During Return to Racing Following Seven-Week Absence

Inside Line Promotions – OHSWEKEN, Ontario, Canada (July 19, 2017) – Alex Hill returned to sprint car competition for the first time in approximately seven weeks last Friday night when she posted a top-10 finish at Ohsweken Speedway.

The 17-year-old had just been cleared to return to racing after having been sidelined because of a concussion suffered in a crash at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on May 27.

Hill started seventh and finished fourth in her heat race before crossing the finish line 10th after starting seventh in the A Main on Friday at her home track.

“The car was really good in the heat race,” she said. “But, unfortunately, it wasn’t so good in the feature. It was really tight. But (the night) went really well. I felt fine. It was awesome and I was really glad to be back.”

Hill will resume her busy summer schedule this week. She’ll race a 360ci winged sprint car at Ohsweken Speedway on Friday and Monday and then drive a 410ci winged sprint car at the track with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on Tuesday. It will be the second time in her brief career that she’s driven a 410, with the previous time coming last year with the Outlaws at Ohsweken Speedway.

On Wednesday, she’ll fly to California for orientation for her first year at Cal State LA before traveling to Knoxville Raceway to race with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on July 29.
