Pearson Jr. and Papich Compete in New Mexico's Wild West Shootout
Papich Racing with drivers Jason Papich and Earl Pearson Jr. kicked off their 2022 campaign with the 16th annual Wild West Shootout at FK Rod Ends Vado (N.M.) Speedway Park on January 8-16.
The team drivers competed in six events over the course of six days at the state-of-the-art, 3/8-mile oval.
Pearson Jr. enjoyed a fast start to the year with five Top-4 four finishes and only one DNF. Notably on January 14, Pearson Jr. led 12 of the first 14 laps before finishing 14th in the $5,000-to-win affair, and then also charged to a runner-up finish in the $25,000-to-win finale on January 16.
Jason Papich also showed speed throughout the six-race miniseries with a best finish of seventh in the $5,000-to-win, 40-lap feature on January 15.
