POWRi Lonestar 600's Non Wing

600's Feature sends the crowd to their. feet Sheperd, Elkins, Kreuger Victorious

The Lonestar 600's would roll south to Gulf Coast Speedway and boy would it be a hectic night. There would be 20 Non Wing 600's, 4 Restrictor's, 2 Jr. Sprint's. Several drivers would find themselves having trouble in there heats. Notables would be Blake Moeller flipping due to contact from another car. Luke Lucas doing the same in his heat race. Both Drivers would be ok. The first feature out was the Jr. Sprints. Christopher Townsend and Christian Kreuger would put on a good show with just the 2 of them. Christian would be the winner and park it in victory lane for his first ever Jr. Sprint win. Congrats to him. Next out would be the restrictors and only 3 would start as Wyatt Bruce would not be able to make the call to the track with a hurt racecar. The race would be won by Maverick Elkins. This would be maverick's first Lonestar 600 win this season. The 600's rolled onto the track & set the pace for their A main event. Little did they know the excitement that would unfold from this race. From sitting on the edge of their seats to worry to standing on their feet to see the finish! The drivers took off for the start with a tight field. 1 lap would be made before the acrobats would arrive going into turn 1. Cars touched, slid & banged sending Blake Moeller, Jacob Lucas & Shane Birchfield into the air. Cart wheel city. Lucas & Moeller instantly get the all clear with paramedics. However, Birchfield would send the worry as his door bell was truly rung. Ambulance arrived to assess. Birchfield would walk away later free & clear to hug his family. A complete restart set in action. The race was on from there. Wyatt Rector takes off with the lead. Little did he know Raleigh Shepherd & Karson Battarbee inched their way to right behind him. The white flag waves, and Wyatt would find the pressure right there with him. Going into turn 1, Wyatt had a slight driver error & Shepherd would find the hole. Followed by Battarbee. Rector recovered very well & managed to slide back onto the back stretch in 3rd. The finish was intense. The crowd was on their feet. Raleigh Shepherd would find himself in victory lane for our Lonestar 600's A main event! Thank you to all officials & medical staff who were in action through out our night of racing! Next race will be in a few weeks on July 30th at Gator Motorplex.
