Minnesota Missile Monday: Season Opens Memorial Weekend at Brooklyn

The long awaited outdoor season finally happened on Sunday May 29 with KC joining the Midwest Micro Series with the A-Class micro division at Brooklyn Raceway. A total of 19 drivers signed into racing action with KC being the only restricted motor in the division.
With the move to the new class and being his first night out, KC tagged the tail of all events through the evening and started 7th in his heat race. He hung with the tail of the field for most of the nonstop event and completed all laps, finishing in 7th.
The feature saw all 19 drivers hit the track to take the green. On the opening lap, the 7 car got turned around and KC made contact, bending his front bumper and knocking his nose wing askew but he was able to continue on.
Throughout the caution filled feature event, KC continued to make laps and stay out of trouble. He even made a couple passes with strong drives off the bottom side to move under his competitors. As the field lined up for a final green-white-checkered run to the finish, KC continued keeping out of trouble and was able to bring home a 10th place finish.
Next week, the team will load up and head to the weekly event at Sweet Springs to run the restricted class against their strong field of drivers.
