Parker Martin

Martin follows Southern Nationals to I-75, Senoia, and Screven

On Tuesday afternoon, Parker Martin was back on the road with the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals for the fourth round of the 12-race tour at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.).

Starting the feature in 20th via preliminary events, Martin was an early retiree from the 40-lapper on lap 17 with his car dumping fluids under a caution period.

On Thursday evening at Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.), Parker edged his way into the $4,053-to-win A-Main with a third-place finish in his B-Main. Losing one spot in the 40-lap affair, Martin crossed the line in 17th.

With Friday’s event at East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) rained out, Martin headed to Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Ga.) on Saturday for the annual Rebel Yell. With a sixth-place finish in his heat race pinning him on the eighth row for the $10,053-to-win A-Main, Parker was credited with a 21st-place outing after he retired on the 14th circuit.

Sunday’s event at Swainsboro Raceway (Swainsboro, Ga.) fell victim to Mother Nature.

Parker is ninth in the latest Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals point standings.
