Kolby Vandenbergh finishes sixth with MLRA at Randolph County

Earning the 12th-starting position for the opening night feature via a fifth-place finish in his heat, Vandenbergh gained two spots in the 30-lapper to finish 10th.

On Saturday evening at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.), Kolby topped his time trial group in qualifying before placing first in his heat. With $7,000 on the line in the feature, Vandenbergh led the opening 11 circuits until a charging Tony Jackson Jr. stole the top spot. He rebounded to finish 12th in the 40-lap affair after bringing out a caution on the 20th circuit.

For the second annual Weiner Nationals on Sunday at Randolph County Raceway (Moberly, Mo.), Vandenbergh followed up a third-place finish in his heat race with a 12th-to-sixth showing in the 30-lap feature.

Kolby sits in second in the latest Lucas Oil MLRA point standings.
