Cade Dillard visits Volusia Speedway Park for Sunshine Nationals
After recently declaring his plans to return with the series full time in 2023, Cade Dillard joined the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series on Thursday afternoon at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) as the fourth annual Sunshine Nationals kicked off the season for World of Outlaws.
In a field of 47 Late Models, Dillard edged his way into the opening night feature with a third-place finish in his B-Main after finishing sixth in in his heat. With $8,000 on the line, Cade gained six spots in the 25-lap affair to record a 16th-place outing.
For another $8,000-to-win program on Friday evening, Cade missed a transfer spot by two cars in his B-Main with a fourth-place finish, forcing him to use a provisional into the show. Starting in 26th, Dillard clawed forward five positions to finish 21st.
An unfavorable forecast for Saturday’s program forced officials to cancel the Sunshine Nationals finale.
