DIRTcar Nationals brings Martin to Volusia Speedway Park

Logan Martin returned to his Adams Construction No. 36 Late Model on Monday to start the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.).

With qualifying groups grouped into heat races, Martin qualified ninth-fastest and gained one position in his heat race. With one more chance to make the A-Main field, Logan was unable to transfer through the B-Main.

The following evening, Logan gained two positions in his heat race, but was still relegated to a B-Main. With a spot in the $7,000 feature on the line, Martin once again fell short of making the field.

With no heat races on Wednesday, Martin timed in 17th-fastest in his group which placed him on the ninth row for one of the $5,000-to-win features. Logan mounted a 17th-to-9th charge in the 20-lap A-Main to record a Top-10 finish.

On Thursday as the remainder of the week became World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series sanctioned, Logan recorded the 13th-quickest lap in his group before falling five positions in his heat race. Martin charged forward in his B-Main but ultimately fell just short of making the 30-lap feature.

With Friday's World of Outlaws event getting rained out, racing resumed at Volusia on Saturday for the $20,000-to-win finale. Logan ran seventh in his heat race which positioned him for one more shot at making the main event in his B-Main. Needing a Top-2 finish to transfer to the feature, Martin recorded a eighth-place finish.
