Belleville, IL. (3/12/23) Getting back into the racing season with the opening weekend of possible points in a duo of outstanding open-wheel possibilities, the POWRi Lightning Sprint Division would start the seasonal quest of National Championship infamy with all eyes shifted west in the Southwest Lightning Sprint region running.

Feature winners within the Southwest Lightning Sprints at Imperial Speedway would see AJ Bender secure his inaugural career SWLS feature victory on Friday as up-and-coming Braden Chiaramonte would see his career POWRi Lightning Sprint win count move to five while wrapping up the opening weekend of 2023.

Competing members will earn points based on a sliding scale system, as fifteen entries are considered a full field and receive full points, with the best fifteen performances throughout the season judged in the yearly points chase. The highest points earner from the season will gain the honor of the 2023 POWRi Lightning Sprint National Points Champion.
