RTJ attends King of America XII finale at Humboldt
After Mother Nature stole another week of competition in his Late Model, Ricky Thornton Jr. hopped behind the wheel of the Kyle Brown Motorsports No. 21 Modified for the King of America XII presented by Shocker Hitch at Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kan.).
With wet weather axing Friday’s program, Ricky followed up a runner-up finish in his heat on Saturday with a third-to-first run in his B-Main. Starting the $12,000-to-win United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned feature in 13th, Thornton bent a tie rod on a restart that led to an early exit on the eighth circuit.
