Jackson Jr. qualifies for Cowboy Classic at Lucas Oil Speedway

Tony Jackson Jr. took on dozens of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) foes on Thursday through Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri.

The three-day Show-Me 100 weekend kicked off on Thursday evening, when Jacksons’s Willard Quarries No. 56 was one of 59 Dirt Late Models in the pit area for the Cowboy Classic at the 3/8-mile oval.

A fourth-place finish in his heat put Jackson in a B-Main, where he took the checkered flag to advance to the the 45-lap, $6,000-to-win main event. The driver from Lebanon, Missouri, started 19th and finished 24th in the night’s feature.

With 57 cars in the pits for Friday’s Tribute to Don & Billie Gibson, Jackson finished seventh in his heat and sixth in his B-Main, precluding him from advancing to the night’s 40-lap, $6,000-to-win main event.

On Saturday a total of 60 cars filled the pit area, with B-Mains on tap for those not yet qualified for the night’s 100-lap race.

Jackson drove to a third-place result in his "B," narrowly missing a transfer into the $50,000-to-win feature. However, he had one final chance to make the big show through the Show-Me Challenge for non-qualifiers. He started on the outside of the front row but was unable to finish and was credited with 18th in the 20-lap race.

Jackson now sits ninth in the MLRA point standings.
