Earl Pearson Jr. takes on Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway
On Thursday afternoon, Earl Pearson Jr. unloaded his Jason Papich Racing No. 46 Late Model at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for the 29th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream weekend.
With the massive 95-car field split into two groups, EPJ missed the setup in qualifying and finished 10th in his heat, but made it up in his Last Chance Showdown with a runner-up finish. Sneaking into the $12,000-to-win preliminary feature, Earl made up eight spots to finish 15th.
For another round of prelims on Friday, Pearson Jr. was faster in qualifying and picked up a transfer spot in his heat race. For his second $12,000-to-win preliminary feature of the weekend, EPJ once again moved forward eight positions to land a 12th-place finish.
For Saturday's $129,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream, EPJ started seventh in his heat race and fell back two positions to finish ninth. With one more shot to make the A-Main starting field, Earl recorded a 15th-place outing in his Last Chance Showdown.
Wrapping up an extended weekend on Monday at Kokomo Speedway (Kokomo, Ind.) with the XR Super Series, Pearson Jr. finished ninth in his heat race and was unable to crack the 24-car starting field in his B-Main.
