Cameron Weaver Travels to Smoky Mountain

For the first time in over two months Cameron returned to the driver's seat on Friday night with a visit to Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) for the opening round of the Mountain Moonshine Classic.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) event found the 43-car field divided into twin $5,000-to-win programs at the recently-reconfigured oval. Aboard his Stacy Boles Racing / Advanced Transportation No. 116 Lowe's Tows / Longhorn Chassis Super Late Model, Weaver qualified 19th fastest in his group to earn the 19th-starting spot for the prelim feature.

With challenging track conditions, Cameron elected to retire after one lap to save his equipment. He was credited with a 21st-place finish.

The team elected to scratch from Saturday's finale.
