34th Annual Dakota Classic Mod Tour - July 8th Results & Recap

It was an awesome night of racing for the 34th Annual Dakota Classic Modified Tour stop at the Jamestown Speedway on Saturday night presented by Industrial Electric. It was opening night of the 2023 Tour and the racing action was just plain intense! The track was fast and tacky all night. The track was hit with a very thundershower from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM and the pits were very muddy and the track was quite tacky. Unfortunately, we battled weather all night so the track developed soon character towards the end of the night. However, it was very racy, had multiple grooves, and a lot of side by side battles. Great job to the track prep crew for their hard work throughout the night!

We had a total of 62 IMCA Modifieds and 41 IMCA Stock Cars for opening night of the 34th Dakota Classic Modified Tour. A huge thank you goes out to Industrial Electric, Quality Inn, and Tapp's Lounge for sponsoring the tour and the race night at the Jamestown Speedway.

Congratulations goes out the Feature Winners and Runner-Ups:

IMCA Stock Cars - 41 Cars:

  • Winner: Rob VanMil, Runner-Up: Trent Grager
  • Hard Charger: Jeremy Swanson +10 (19th to 9th!)

The IMCA Stock Car feature event was an awesome battle up front. A ton of three wide battles throughout the field. What a race between Rob VanMil and Trent Grager for the lead with Angel Munoz running in third at the finish.

IMCA Modifieds - 62 Cars:

  • Winner: Tim Ward, Runner-Up: Travis Hagen (10th to 2nd)
  • Hard Charger: Kollin Hibdon +11 (16th to 5th!)

Tim Ward was on a mission Saturday night and he sweep the night in dominating fashion. It was a great race throughout the field through with a bunch of side-by-side battles for position. The battle for second was intense between Cody Laney, Kyle Strickler, Travis Hagen, Drew Janssen, and Jason Wolla.

It is an honor to host the Dakota Classic Mod Tour each year and we have to thank the tour for allowing us to be part of it for the past several years. Good luck to all of the drivers on the upcoming tour events at our neighboring tracks. Thanks as well to all of fans, drivers, sponsors, and track crew for supporting the Jamestown Speedway and coming out to join us for the Mod Tour.

We’ll see everyone back next week Saturday, July 15th, for more hot racing action and some fun kid activities for Kid's Night & the INEX Legends Special ($750 to WIN!)
