(Warrensburg, Missouri) The first weekend of August has come around and at Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) that means one thing, it is time for Kid’s Night at the Speedway! Always a favorite night on the annual calendar, the night will feature plenty of fun for kids 12 and under.

Kid’s Night event Coordinator Barb Beck Wilson has been busy leading up to the event, collecting generous donations from drivers, fans, and track personnel, including treats, school supplies, trinkets, and various items to be given away. Wilson stated donated items for Kid’s Night may still be brought to the track and dropped off at the pit entrance office on race day as early as possible. The free goodie bags are assembled by volunteers beginning at 10 a.m. on race day.

Items needed include school supplies such as crayons, colored pencils, dry-erase markers glue sticks, loose leaf paper, scissors, folders, spiral notebook paper (school supplies), and small toys, trinkets, and candy treats (that will not melt), and driver memorabilia, such as hero cards and pictures.

In addition to the free goodie bags for all kids aged 12 and under. Kids will have the opportunity to compete in boys’ and girls’ division foot races on the track during the intermission break. Every kid 12 and under will also receive a free hot dog and drink courtesy of track owners and promoters Earl and Susan Walls. Lastly, kids will also have a chance to enter drawings for various other items such as bicycles during the intermission break.

On the racing side of things, all four weekly championship divisions, including B-Mods, Super Stocks, Midwest Mods, and Pure Stocks, will be on hand for a full night of action featuring preliminary heat races and main events. Visiting drivers and fans are VERY STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to visit the track’s website and familiarizing themselves with the track’s “Good to Know Information” and “Track General Rules.” Both documents are located at www.centralmissourispeedway.net.

There are no entry fees or “track registration” fees for any class (for the remainder of the year) other than the driver pit pass, but drivers will still be required to complete applicable yearly paperwork. ALL drivers in all divisions must possess a current and active POWRi membership license, which is available on-site or prior to the event visiting www.powri.com. Cost of the license is $100.

Admissions information is as follows: Adult General Admission $15, Active-Duty Military, Senior Citizens ages 65 to 74, and Students with Student I.D. $12. Kids ages 6 to 12 years $6, Children ages 5 and under and Senior Citizens aged 75 years and older are free in the grandstands. Those permanently confined to a wheelchair are free in the grandstands. ALL pit passes regardless of age or status are $35.
