McCowan Races in Wisconsin

Dillon McCowan had a busy past week in Wisconsin, where he raced five times in six days in his No. 8 Super Late Model.

On Thursday the team entered the opening round of the 2023 edition of the USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisc.). With 48 World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Super Late Models in the pit area, Dillon narrowly missed the cut for the feature with a fourth-place finish in a Last Chance Showdown as his night drew to an early end.

On Friday evening he bounced back to race his way into the $6,000-to-win feature, where he started 21st. He would be an early retiree from the 25-lap main event and was credited with a 28th-place finish.

On Saturday night the final round of the weekend was held and McCowan found himself on the outside looking in, as his debut weekend at the Wisconsin, 3/8-mile oval ended with a fifth-place finish in the Last Chance Showdown.

After an off-day on Sunday the team resumed competition with a trip to Gondik Law Speedway (Superior, Wisc.) on Monday night. Thirty-four XR Super Series Super Late Model racers entered the $20,000-to-win program. Dillon qualified ninth fastest in his group before finishing ninth in his heat race. Only able to make up one spot in his B-Main, he fell short of transferring to the finale.

The McCowan Motorsports Team's northern excursion came to an end on Tuesday evening at Red Cedar Speedway (Menomonie, Wisc.), where 24 competitors took aim on the $10,000 top prize in the XR Workin' Man Series event. Dillon finished fourth in his heat race before recording a 12th-place finish in the 50-lap feature.
