Putnam runner-up in Road to 'Dega 40 at North Alabama with Iron-Man Series
Taking advantage of a Hunt the Front off weekend in August, Josh Putnam traveled to North Alabama Speedway (Tuscumbia, Ala.) on Friday evening for the Road to 'Dega 40 with the Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series.
Locking in the Top-10 in qualifying, Putnam laid down the eighth-quickest lap in qualifying which placed him on the fourth-row for the feature. Charging through the field, Putnam gained seven spot to finish second in the $5,000 main event. He trailed race-winner Christian Hanger while Oakley Johns, Josh Henry, and Parker Martin completed the Top-5.
With the Iron-Man field elevated to 36 Late Models on Saturday at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.), Josh nabbed the final A-Main transfer spot in his heat race. Rolling off from the eighth-row in the $10,000 feature, Putnam pulled off early and was scored 16th.
