Mo Bags takes 10th with CCSDS, competes in Topless 100 at Batesville

Morgan Bagley traveled to Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) over the weekend for three days of competition with the top off of his Billy Bob’s Repair & Tire No. 14M Late Model.

On Thursday evening, the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) concluded its postponed 34-car strong Hillbilly 40 from late July at the 3/8-mile oval. Bagley started the 40-lap, $5,000-to-win feature from the 15th position and climbed as high as seventh before finishing a hard-fought 10th.

Next up was the crown-jewel 31st annual COMP Cams Topless 100 co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and CCSDS.

With 64 entrants on hand for Friday’s preliminary action, Bagley finished fourth in his heat race and used a third-place B-Main result to sneak into the 30-lap, $5,000-to-win prelim feature. Bagley picked up five positions from his 24th-place starting spot to come home 19th.

Saturday also saw 64 LOLMDS and CCSDS Late Models descend on the Batesville track for a shot at the $50,000 first-place payout in the event finale. With the top 16 already locked into the 100-lap feature, Bagley started on the front row of one of two B-Mains used to set the remainder of the field. He finished fourth, narrowly missing out on a transfer spot, but utilized a CCSDS emergency provisional to start 28th in the Topless 100.

He picked up one spot to record a 27th-place finish.
