Top-10 finish in Comp Cams Topless 100 at Batesville
Wells Motorsports and Brandon Overton rolled into Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Ark.) on Friday afternoon for the 41st annual Comp Cams Topless 100.
Drawing 64 entries for the two-day event co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS), Overton got off to a hot start by picking up a heat race victory but was never able to recover in the feature after pitting on the 24th circuit for a new tire. He crossed the line in 23rd in the 30-lapper.
Relegated into a B-Main on Saturday, Brandon locked his spot into the $50,000-to-win Comp Cams Topless 100 finale with a consolation victory. Starting in 17th, Overton advanced through the field eight spots in the 100-lap affair to register a ninth-place finish.
Brandon is currently fifth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
