Three podiums with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on eastern swing

Kicking off a three-day eastern swing with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), Mike Marlar made the haul to Georgetown Speedway (Georgetown, Del.) on Thursday for the Melvin Joseph Memorial.

With 30 Late Models entered, Mike backed up the second-fastest qualifying effort in his group with a heat race win. Starting the $18,049-to-win A-Main in third, a consistent Marlar rolled to a third-place finish in the 50-lapper, which came behind Ricky Thornton Jr. and Brandon Overton.

Following the LOLMDS to Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) on Friday, Marlar raced into his $5,000-to-win Rumble by the River preliminary feature with a runner-up run in his heat. Moving forward one spot in the 25-lap affair, Mike posted another third-place finish.

On Saturday, Mike secured his spot into the $50,000-to-win finale with an eight-lap heat race victory. Rolling to his third consecutive podium finish, Marlar improved four positions to register a second-place finish. He followed Hudson O’Neal across the line with Jonathan Davenport, Matt Cosner, and Brandon Overton completing the top-five.
