Mason Oberkramer notches top-10 result during MLRA Labor Day swing

A trio of events at Missouri tracks was on tap for Mason Oberkramer as he joined the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) over the Labor Day weekend.

First up was the two-day, ninth annual Ron Jenkins Memorial at the 3/8-mile Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri). Friday’s event opener attracted 34 MLRA Late Model teams, with Oberkramer’s Premier Flatwork No. 93 operation among them. Oberkramer started strong by winning his heat race from the fourth position, putting him third on the grid for the 30-lap, $5,000-to-win main event. He ultimately came home in the sixth spot.

On Saturday, 35 MLRA Late Models were at Lucas Oil Speedway with an $11,000 first-place payout up for grabs. Oberkramer steered to a second-place finish in his heat race, then began the 40-lap feature from the outside of the third row. He ran inside the top 10 for the first half of the race, but could not complete all the circuits and finished 19th.

The three-day MLRA swing wrapped up on Sunday with 27 cars competing in the third annual Wiener Nationals at Moberly Motorsports Park (Moberly, MO).

Oberkramer won his heat on the 4/10-mile oval and started the 30-lap, $10,000-to-win A-Main from the third position. He ended the evening with a 12th-place result.

After the three most recent MLRA events, Oberkramer is in 11th place in the series point standings.
