Diercks takes Darkside Fall Bash opener at Cedar County

Spencer Diercks traveled to Cedar County Raceway (Tipton, Iowa) on Wednesday afternoon to kick off the Darkside Fall Bash weekend with the 30th annual Gary Reinhart Memorial.

Aboard the Timmy Current Enterprises No. 21 Modified, Diercks stormed into the A-Main with a ninth-to-second run in his eight-lap heat. Pulling the 12th-starting position via the redraw, Spencer jumped up two spots to finish 10th.

For the Darkside Fall Bash opener on Thursday, Spencer secured a spot into the redraw with a runner-up showing in his heat. Leading the field to green, Diercks led all 25 laps to capture his sixth win of the season and $1,200 payday. He finished 0.244 seconds ahead of Dylan Thornton with Chris Simpson coming in third.

On Friday, Diercks passed five cars in his heat to finish fourth before dashing to a B-Main win. Wheeling into the top-10 in the feature, Spencer improved 10 positions to place ninth.

The weekend drew to an early close for Spencer on Saturday after he suffered a broken driveshaft on the sixth lap of the 50-lap Darkside Fall Bash finale.
