Seawright fifth in Jerry Goodwin Challenge at Talladega with HTF
Taking part in the NASCAR festivities in Alabama, Sam Seawright joined the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) on Friday evening for the Jerry Goodwin Challenge.
With 42 Late Models signed in for the first night of the doubleheader, Seawright finished runner-up in his heat race which earned him a starting spot on the third row. During the quick 38-lap feature, Seawright ran inside the Top-5 and recorded a fifth-place outing.
Looking to ride the momentum into Saturday's finale, Sam picked it up in qualifying by topping the charts and going on to win his heat race. Drawing the No. 4 in the redraw, Sam was running fifth when a flat tire forced him to pull in. He was scored 23rd in the final rundown.
Sam will once again be in action with the series at Swainsboro (Ga.) Raceway this coming weekend.
