Logan Roberson

Roberson sidelined by broken j-bar in Great Lakes 50 at Raceway 7

Getting an early start to his race week, Logan Roberson entered the Brodnax Shaker Motorsports No. 89 Late Model into battle at Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, W. Va.) on Wednesday for the ninth stop of the Castrol FloRacing Night in America miniseries.

After laying down the sixth-fastest lap amongst a stout field of 31 Late Models, Roberson was ran over on the opening lap of his heat that eventually led to an early exit. He was a scratch from his 10-lap consolation race.

Making a last-minute decision to compete with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Friday, Logan and the team trekked to Raceway 7 (Conneaut, Ohio) for the track’s Great Lakes 50. With a third-place finish in his heat race positioning him on the fourth row for the $12,000-to-win A-Main, eighth-running Roberson suffered lingering effects from a lap-one tangle, forcing him pitside on lap 38 with a broken j-bar.

For the 35th annual Pittsburgher on Saturday at Pittsburgh’s Pa. Motor Speedway (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Roberson’s sixth-place outing in his heat relegated him into a consolation race. Needing to place second or better to make the $30,000-to-win finale, Logan fell short with a seventh-place finish.
