Hafertepe Returning To Defend Short Track Nationals Title!

Bryan Hulbert - TEXARKANA, Ark. (October 3, 2023) Looking to add his name to the list of winners at the COMP Cams Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires & Ark-La-Tex Lawn and Landscape for a third time, defending event champion, Sam Hafertepe, Jr. will bring the Hills Racing No. 15h to Texarkana 67 Speedway this weekend.
"It meant a lot to win the last one at I-30 Speedway because of what that track meant to me, so I'm looking forward to this weekend and seeing the event continue at Texarkana. Hopefully, everything goes right, and we'll win the first one there," stated Hafertepe, who also topped the Short Track Nationals in 2020.
A while since Sam has raced the western Arkansas oval; his last visit was in 2007 with the American Sprint Car Series presented by RacinDirt.com. During the 2023 season, the five-time series champion has run a mixture of 410 and 360 events, with a trio of wins coming at East Bay Raceway Park (360), Eldora Speedway (All Star), and Ohswken Speedway (360).
Sam will have his souvenir trailer open during the event with a full lineup ofrious hats, hoodies, and shirts available.
The 36th annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires & Ark-La-Tex Lawn and Landscape takes place Friday, October 6, and Saturday, October 7 at Texarkana 67 Speedway in Texarkana, Ark. There are currently over 60 drivers entered into the $20,000 to win event. Live coverage is available on http://www.floracing.com.
