(Warrensburg, Missouri) The official start of the 2024 Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) season is in sight, but before the first official race of the season, drivers have a pair of opportunities this Saturday, April 13, to show their new rides and test and tune their cars before the championship season begins.
Activities begin Saturday at noon, on the front side of the speedway near the corner of V and 13 Highway when drivers will have a chance to meet their fans in person, show their shiny new cars, and display their sponsorship and talk about their 2024 race plans. Participating drivers will display cars from noon to 2 pm.
Drivers are encouraged to bring treats for the kids and to be prepared to take pictures and interact with young fans, race enthusiasts, and families. Drivers should reserve their slot by emailing track media contact samonthemic@hotmail.com or texting 660-909-1083. Drivers will need to be in place by 11:45 am for the noon start time. Participating drivers must remain in place from noon to 2 pm.
After the car show, drivers then have one chance for a test and tune practice session prior to opening night the following week. Pit gates will officially open at 3 pm. The practice session will take place from 5 to 8 pm. All pit passes are $25, regardless of age. Pit side grandstand admission is free. The front side will not be open. There will be VERY limited concessions available. As a thank you to drivers who display their cars during the car show earlier in the day, their pit passes will only be $10.
All dirt-track racing classes are invited to participate in the car show and practice session. Drivers must have all the required racing safety gear to enter the track. Visit the track website at www.centralmissourispeedway.net and the general rules section for requirements and registration information. Race Receiver use is mandatory for the practice session and racing each week throughout the season.
The following weekend, on Saturday, April 20, marks the first night of competition when the chase for the 2024 season championships begins in all four weekly racing classes, POWRi B-Mods, POWRi Super Stocks, POWRi Midwest Mods, and unsanctioned Pure Stocks.

All POWRi sanctioning and fees are separate from that of CMS. Please utilize the POWRi links as mentioned here to take care of your POWRi fees. Benefits include year-end point fund and secondary medical insurance.
