Top-5 result for Sanders at Mississippi Thunder opener
Rodney Sanders traveled to the Dairy State on Thursday to take part in the 16th annual opening night at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin.
With a $2,000 first-place prize up for grabs, 27 USRA Modified drivers descended on the 1/3-mile clay oval.
Sanders took the runner-up spot in his heat race, positioning him fourth to start the 30-lap feature. He came home in the same position, finishing behind Jim Chisholm, J.T. Wasmund and Keith Foss. Dan Ebert completed the top five.
Sanders’ scheduled weekend slate, the Featherlite Fall Jamboree-Do at Spring Valley, Minnesota’s Deer Creek Speedway, was rained out.
