Sorensen soars to first Top-5 finish with World of Outlaws at Raceway 7

Kicking off a busy weekend with the World of Outlaw Case Late Model Series on Thursday, Dustin Sorensen checked into Raceway 7 (Conneaut, Ohio) for the first event of a four-race swing through Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Stopping the clock sixth-quickest in his qualifying group, Sorensen gained one spot to finish runner-up in his heat race. Rolling off from the third-row in the $10,000-to-win main event, Dustin ran fourth for most of the feature before slipping to fifth when the checkered flag flew to score his first-career Top-5 finish with the series.

Friday's $15,000-to-win Billy Winn Classic at Bedford (Pa.) Speedway was rained out.

Dodging rain showers at Marion Center (Pa.) Speedway on Saturday, Sorensen did not finish his last chance showdown which forced him to use a provisional for the $15,000-to-win main event. Making up six positions, Dustin salvaged a 16th-place finish.

Capping off the week on Sunday night at Path Valley Speedway Park (Spring Run, Pa.), Dustin was able to win his last chance showdown which earned him the 18th-place starting position in the A-Main. Charging forwards nine spots, Sorensen landed inside the Top-10 in ninth.

Sorensen is currently 10th in the World of Outlaws point standings.
