Tyler Bruening sixth in opening race of Ohio / Pennsylvania swing with World of Outlaws

Kicking off a busy weekend with the World of Outlaw Case Late Model Series on Thursday, Tyler Bruening checked into Raceway 7 (Conneaut, Ohio) for the first event of a four-race swing through Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Drawing 40 Late Models to the track, Bruening clicked off the third-quickest lap in his group before finishing runner-up in his heat race. Rolling off seventh in the $10,000-to-win main event, Tyler slipped back to ninth early in the 40-lap feature but rallied to finish inside the Top-10 in sixth.

Friday's $15,000-to-win Billy Winn Classic at Bedford (Pa.) Speedway was rained out.

With a weekend-high car count of 54 Late Models at Marion Center (Pa.) Speedway on Saturday, Tyler started second and won his heat race before pulling the No. 3 in the redraw. For the $15,000-to-win showdown, Bruening ran inside the Top-10 before fading late to wind up 14th.

Capping off the week on Sunday night at Path Valley Speedway Park (Spring Run, Pa.), Bruening gained two spots in his heat to race his way into the $10,000-to-win main event. With 40-laps to work with, Tyler started ninth and finished 12th.

Bruening is currently sixth in the World of Outlaws point standings.
