Twin Modified Features, Mini-Mod “King of the Hill” on Tap at Airborne Park Speedway

Family four-pack ticket special offered for Casella/Morrisonville Septic Night

PLATTSBURGH, NY – Stock car racing fans have a Saturday night full of action on deck at Airborne Park Speedway on May 30, as Casella and Morrisonville Septic present a big program and a special family four-pack ticket offer. The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series presented by Yandow Sales & Service and John Deere gets the green flag at 6:00 p.m., along with a 50-lap Enduro and the first-ever Ernie’s Discount Tools “King of the Hill” Elimination Tournament, all for as little as $20 for a family of two adults and two kids.

The J&S Steel Modified division will run twin 30-lap main feature races for full championship points on Saturday night. Clintonville, NY racer Greg Atkins leads the early standings after two events, with three-time track champion Nick Heywood, Jason Durgan, Codie Aubin, and Vince Quenneville Jr. all within 18 points. Both races also count for the Yandow/John Deere Spring Championship Series, a seven-week mini-series between Airborne and Devil’s Bowl Speedway with a $1,000 bonus for the Modified champion. Quenneville, of Brandon, VT, has a narrow two-point edge on Atkins, with Leon Gonyo, Durgan, and Heywood close behind.

The Busch Beer Mini-Modified division has regular heat and feature races on tap, but will also take part in the first-ever “King of the Hill” Tournament. March Madness bracket-style match races will pit 16 racers against each other in four elimination rounds with the champion collecting a $250 bonus from Ernie’s Discount Tools. Dale O’Neil of Mooers, NY leads both the Airborne weekly standings and the Spring Championship Series and is being chased by Pete Blaney, Tyler Irwin, Kris Clark, Tim LaFountain, Chris LaVair, and others.

The Key R-D Trailer Sales Renegade division will compete for a Triple Crown with heat races, a bonus-points semi-feature, and a 25-lap main feature. Josh Terry of Essex, NY copped the Triple Crown on May 17 and will try to defend the honor against Airborne point leader Shawn Duquette and Spring Championship Series leader Robert Gordon.

Saturday night’s busy event wraps up with a wild-and-crazy Enduro race for amateur drivers and virtually street-legal, junkyard-caliber vehicles for 50 laps. Enduro races are run green-flag-only, with the red flag displayed only in the event of unsafe conditions.

Racing action on Casella/Morrisonville Septic Night begins at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30. Single general admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and free for children age 12 and under. The special “family four-pack” ticket offer is just $20 for two adults and two kids.
