Josh Schneiderman – Knoxville Top Ten Sets up Big Week!

A strong eighth place run at the Knoxville Raceway last Saturday night sets up a big weekend for Josh Schneiderman and the Deuce Motorsports #49 team. On Friday, the World of Outlaws invade 34 Raceway in Josh’s hometown of West Burlington, Iowa. Saturday, the FVP National Sprint League gets back in action at Knoxville.

Josh would time in 11th quick Saturday night at Knoxville. “Our old motor keeps going,” he says. “That old girl keeps ticking. It’s my favorite motor. I call it old Betsy. I left a little bit out there, just because of the rain and the track was a little rough. I had a really nice one and two and I needed to be better in three and four. We were pretty happy though.”

The start of the heat race was a little rough, but he would ride it out to a sixth place finish after starting third. “We kind of got bottlenecked going into one, and the car got really snug on us,” says Josh. “We were really tight in dirty air there in the heat. We were comfortably in a transfer spot, so there was no reason to do anything crazy.”

Starting 11th in the feature, Josh would work his way up to an eighth place finish at the checkers. “We were right in the thick of things most of the race,” he says. “We’re really progressing and I was happy with that. We were running ninth there most of the race, and Brian (Brown) fell out there. We were right there with (Bronson) Maeschen and (Terry) McCarl at the end. I think we were a little better than them, but they were having their own issues. I was trying not to get crashed.”

Josh is looking forward to Friday’s race with the WoO at 34 Raceway. His career best third place finish with them came there a few years ago. “It’s always a neat race when the Outlaws come and invade our home turf,” he says. “We take pride in that. We haven’t got to race at Burlington much this year due to the rain. It’s always nice to be able to race in front of the hometown fans who don’t get to see us race as much. It’s something we always look forward to.”

Things don’t get any easier on Saturday at Knoxville when the NSL comes in. “It’s going to make for a couple of tough nights,” says Josh. “Not only to run well, but to make the show both nights will be a feather in anyone’s cap. To break into the top ten or twelve again would be great.”
