Madras, Oregon- The cars and stars of the Wingless Sprint Series made their second appearance of 2016 at Madras Speedway on Saturday, July 9th. Eleven entries would make the trip to the central Oregon ¼-mile clay oval. Teams from Oregon and Washington were represented in the field.

Sherwood’s Rob Lindsey would be the car to beat for much of the main event. Lindsey, however, lost the lead late in the race to Gary Lynch. Lynch would try and fend off Lindsey but Lindsey briefly made it back around Lynch to reclaim the position. Lynch was able to rally one last time and got back to the front with a few laps to go to win his first career Wingless Sprint Series feature of 2016.

Rob Lindsey was second followed by Salem chauffeur Tim Alberding in third. Eagle Creek teenager Lindsay Barney was fourth while fifth finishing was Lance Hallmark of McMinnville. Two heat races were run with Bend native Ryan Arnold and Rob Lindsey the victors while Lindsey got the job done in the trophy dash.

The Wingless Sprint Series will visit the Oregon coast on Saturday, July 16th at Coos Bay Speedway. It will be their only appearance of the season at the venue.
