Blake Hahn Rallies At I-30 Speedway With ASCS In Mid-South/Red River Showdown

SAPULPA, Okla. (April 4, 2017) Taking on I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark. this past weekend in the ASCS Mid-South/Red River Showdown, Blake Hahn had to storm through the field after an engine failure under the bonnet of the Griffith Truck and Equipment/Lucas Oil No. 52 during Heat Race competition.
Ending his night with an eight place finish in the A-Feature, Hahn advanced position 18 times through the B and A-Features.
“The engine blowing up was good and bad. Being at a Regional race, it didn’t hurt us on running for National points, but it’s still never good to see one window the block,” commented Hahn who traded out Wesmar’s to start 10th in the first B-Feature.
“The track was around the bottom for the most part so you had to push the issue a little bit," said Hahn. "We barely made it out of the B-Main. I was fourth on the last lap, but we made it work off the last turn to get the final transfer spot.”
Setting his No. 52 up 19th on the A-Feature lineup, Hahn was elbows up through the field.
“In the feature, the track started to get wider. The bottom was still the fastest line, but you could run the top if you needed to so I pretty much decided I was going to run anywhere they weren’t. A few times we got held up, but overall the car was great. We had a few cautions that fell at just the right time and I was able to pick off a few cars on the restarts. Not the finish we were wanting, but the car in on piece, for the most part.”
Up next for Hahn is Tony Stewart’s Texas Sprint Car Nationals presented by Machinery Auctioneers on Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8 at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network.
